FOR STUDENTS

Everyone at ITA is on your team. Technical skills may help you achieve your objective, but your soft skills are the means to set you on the right track in a career. Your work ethic, attitude, communication skills, emotional intelligence and other personal attributes are the “soft skills” that are crucial for career success.

Career Services work hand-in-hand with instructors to support you right from the beginning of your program. Together, we integrate the soft skills required for workplace success right into the daily curriculum. Why? 75% of employers believe soft skills are just as important as, if not more important than, technical knowledge.

Here are four key attributes employers highlight:

  • Effective Communication: the ability to convey thoughts calmly and clearly in all settings

  • Teamwork: the ability to work well with others

  • Time Management: the ability to plan ahead, work efficiently, and stay organized

  • Problem-solving: the ability to troubleshoot, adapt to changes, and make important decisions

Throughout your program, the ITA team will work with you to develop the skills you need to find the right opportunities for pursuing a new career. We explain and directly provide guidance to our students in the preparation and job search process, which include:

  • Searching and Pinpointing Employment Opportunities

  • Creating an Effective Resume and Cover Letter

  • Making Contacts and Networking

  • Researching Prospective Employers

  • Job Interview Coaching and Practice

Our career development services help to get your career started and to make it last. We encourage you to come to talk with us to learn more.
